Has anyone evaluated a franchise? Or any feedback to share?

I've only looked at CertaPro while diving in deep on a different painting franchise. They are the biggest, so they're doing something right, but I can't say definitively they're a good buy-in.

I've since bought into a different franchise (not the painting one I was looking at) and I'll tell you to due your DD on the franchisor. The system I bought into is not what it used to be, and it took me closing on the transaction and all of 3 weeks to learn the hard way. I wouldn't recommend anyone buy into this one for the indefinite future until they figure out if they're going to be pro-franchisee or not.

With that said, I'm looking into making a second acquisition, and I'm still open to franchises :)

Feel free to dm if you want to discuss offline.

The challenge with franchises is that you really have to evaluate what you’re getting for your franchise fee and royalty. I bought a restoration company franchise once. It was successful and I had a successful exit. But they did nothing for me and it wasn’t at all worth the royalty. I would have been better off paying someone to teach me the business and then go at it myself.

Certa Pro has been around a long time. If they are doing something valuable enough for you (sending leads, helping with staffing, etc) it may be worth it. They do have a good brand name.
