I'm just over 4 months into the acquisition of a catering company in Austin, TX. The website was dated and a technical mess built on Wordpress many years ago. I've rebuilt the site in Webflow which will allow us to manage content much easier and showcase our product + updated branding, but before transitioning to a new site (same domain) I want to make sure I don't punish any SEO that is working for us. Currently about half of our inquiries (and proposals) come through a simple submission form on the website (i.e. people find us through our web presence) Any tips/ self help you recommend?

When doing a site migration, you will most likely see some sort of drop in SEO traffic initially. How well you do the migration will determine how long this will last, seen 1-3 months in my experience. You will want to review your current page structure and URL structure for the old site and compare it to the new site. If you change the URL structure make sure you are redirecting the old URLs to the new pages. If you have changes to the Page structure you will want to make sure you have similar content and meta tags on the page. Makes sure to have Google Search Console on the site and review what has been working and what pages have received the most traffic to know where your focus will be. Submit the sitemap to Search Console once the migration is complete. Happy to chat about specifics if you have them.

Yes I do - It sounds like you're trying to scale and avoid headaches. Have your IT team do the due diligence on the SEO parameters - Often for WP, plugins exist to do the job - the question is, can Webflow do it better? Also, take a look at YEXT - for listing each entity on 200+ platforms, which boosts SEO results dramatically - I always deploy that for my clients - Also, make sure you secure LOGIN details before closing. Also consider making the landing/home page, the submission form. If you have any questions - feel free to email me or message in Linkedin
