68 - 8 Figure Exit, 2 Years After Buying the Business
Today's interview is the story of an incredible two-year run. Keith Leimbach, who was coming off decades in the corporate world, bought a business that he saw on Quiet Light, the broker of digital businesses. He acquired it for mid-six figures, so a pretty small business. But it was only a couple months into his ownership that he realized, in his words, "I got a live one." In three short months he almost doubled the business, and two years later he sold it to private equity. A remarkable home run for an acquisition entrepreneur. There's a lot to how Keith built the business, and in my opinion the biggest learning is how valuable it was for Keith to listen closely to his customers. They were giving him gold and it took him a while to realize it, but once he did, it was the key. Also, make sure you listen to the last eight minutes of the interview, where Keith tells a deeply personal story about a near-death experience that he had had just days before this interview. That story too is just hard to believe. Here he is, Keith Leimbach.
