I presume that many searchers are looking to acquire a business from an aging entrepreneur who doesn’t have a succession plan. Besides from this criteria, what else are you looking for in determining whether you can “unlock” additional value beyond the company’s baseline profit?

Majority of customers concentrated in a specific geography or industry but applicability across others. As Eduardo mentioned the ability to upsize the company implementing technology (often most older companies are significantly behind). Also strong customers that feel a sense of trust with the company, often hidden opportunities for new products or services.
