Hello, Im a new member here interested in becoming a searcher. I had a question that relates to the Online Marketing space.

What would be a similar alternative to acquiring Digital Marketing/Social Media Marketing companies be? The reason I ask is I assume most owners who have a digital marketing company are fairly young in age are not in their 60s or looking to retire and sell their business. (maybe Im wrong?)

Any suggestions?

(My background is in Digital Marketing/Graphic Design

I am closing on a digital marketing agency at the end of the month. Owner is only a couple years older than I am, but is a serial entrepreneur and is ready for his next thing. While I would normally be skeptical of someone saying that, I've spent enough time to know that's his reason for selling.

I've certainly heard you should focus in on the 4 D's when buying (Death, Disease, Distress, Disinterest) and I think digital marketing firms are most likely to fall into the disinterest space.

Alternatively, you could also look into the online retail space. Your skills could be handy there growing a brand, especially if you had a 3rd party fulfillment shop already in place.

We see a ton of these types of companies coming up for sale. -There are a lot of bootstrapped tech companies out there realizing they're not going the VC route, and don't care to. A multiple-based exit is often a great option for these owners.
