Hello all,

Be great to hear from those who are using AI and AI tools for the M&A process... how you are using it eg workflows, what tools and the kinds of results you are getting. Any vendor and other recommendations you can make.

Kind regards,
Manoj

Hey Manoj, I'm finding great value in Grok. Sign up for the Premium or SuperGrok, it's worth the small monthly cost. Best prompting means directing the model to "pretend" to be something, such as: "Pretend you are my business partner, super savvy with numbers and due diligence; you're a pro at identifying potential issues in financial statements and legal documents. Take a look at the attached due diligence items and prepare a robust due diligence for me. Make sure to arrive at a valuation range that takes into consideration all of the materials attached. Run comps on other similar businesses and also give me a breakdown of the market as a whole." You can start with that sort of prompt (copy and paste the above and just run it), and then after that first pass Grok will ask you a few questions about what else you might want to look at. You can ask it to dig deeper on particular issues (a wonky revenue number, for example), or prep you for negotiating a lower price based on the issues it found in the data room. There's no limit, run with it.

I use chat gpt. I start with a pre trained biz dev bot and I train it a bit on my transaction with my buyer deck, which includes our thesis and expertise. I upload the CIM and certain docs from our target then use that bot as an assistant throughout the entire deal process mostly to provide quick initial analysis. I throw everything in it from emails, financials and promotional materials as I create it to inform the process start to finish. I have templates for most of what is produced so I leverage that in my prompts to expedite things. I verbally dictate my prompts to get them as detailed and specific as possible. Bad data in bad data out. I've also been testing out Standd for data room analysis.
