For the financial piece, I've found that standard software vs. AI is better. There are tools like Mosaic that do this well, but the price point may not be approachable for many. AI does not parse many types of Excel or numerical data well although it's getting better

The issue with AI diligence is the significant degree to which the raw data is unstructured or presented without context, especially in the lower-middle/micro markets. Without solving for those AI's usefulness remains minimal although its slowly getting there and can be helpful for inconsequential tasks. At this stage you shouldn't farm out anything to AI that you can't already do well yourself lest you risk subjecting yourself to hidden risk. However, were I to be selling a business I'd love to hear the buyer is heavily reliant on AI.
