The GCC operates differently; personal relationships & trust are foundational here. There is also a mentality of "know-how', so if you do not bring specialized knowledge, skills, or connections, then you get grouped into the "another financial buyer" category, and in a country where there's more financial capital than human capital, that's a bad spot to be.
