I’m currently a freshman at LACC studying accounting and finance. I hope to get my CPA license as soon as I can after graduation and start my own practice. I’ve seen a couple videos on the internet advising people to buy firms instead of starting from scratch. Which would be the best option and if it is to purchase a firm where would I start? Forgive me if this is a dumb thing to be concerned about.

I agree with ^redacted‌ that it's helpful and get experience and cash first. However, it depends upon what experience you may already have, as well as what your short and long-term goals are. Not to mention your appetite for risk.

It is not a dumb thing to be concerned about. It is a valid question. In my opinion, I think it helps to get some experience and cash first before purchasing. I wish you the best of luck.
