Anyone have experience acquiring a dry cleaner?
I'm meeting with the owners of a dry cleaner and would like to hear advice about valuation, key questions to ask, technology transition and licensing/regulatory issues of which to be aware.

I’d bring in someone who specializes in transacting them. My understanding is that the issue is it’s a latent thing where liability can lay with the building owner or the business but is only triggered once an assessment is done. No one ever does the assessment to avoid the liability.

You'd want to get a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment. It might lead to a Phase II if there are any RECs (recognized environmental conditions). This is probably only if they do the dry cleaning on-site as oppossed to it being a flagship store where they do the dry cleaning at a 3rd party location
