Anyone have experience with CriticalPoint (an i-bank, maybe)?

I got a cold email from them teasing a deal that I asked for more info on. They responded with a "finder fee agreement." Has anyone worked with them?

I've worked with CritialPoint in the past. Their core business is working as a buyside broker on retainer for private equity firms, sourcing add-ons and handling intro calls, etc. The "finders fee agreement" is likely their way of making sure they get paid on any opportunities send to you that are successful, but hard to tell without seeing the specific language. I'd generally be more hesitant, unless you're going to use them to supercharge the sourcing process. Hope this helps.

I know Matt and Brad for years....not well but have gone down the path with them on a deal. As Ive known, they are a legit sell-side investment bank and also have a small PE fund, or at least access to capital to invest.
Never heard of them trying to clip finder fees.
