Hi, I am looking at an Electric Motor and Pump Repair company that also has an equipment sales component (~30%). Does anyone have experience with these types of companies? Specifically I am wondering about the industry risks and upsides as well as DD items to look out for. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Hey JJ, I see upsides as being an essential business, recession-resistant, repair usually cheaper than replacement, potentially sticky, repeat customers, high barriers from skilled labor Risks: skilled labor shortages, cyclical new equipment sales, OEM Pricing pressure, potential customer concentration Due Diligence items: revenue mix and margins, top customers, key employee reliance, backlog / turn times, enviro. history

Hi JJ, I have experience that may be helpful. I spent seven years as CEO of ETI Precision before selling the business in###-###-#### We did electrical test and measurement equipment calibration and repair, and we simlarly had a large equipment sales component to our business. Not exactly motor and pump repair, but I imagine lots of similarities. Happy to schedule a call if I can be helpful.
