Our company is looking at getting into the EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) space because it would compliment many of our adjacent businesses. If you have any experience running or working with EPC firms, then I would love to know how you would go about entering the space and what some of the unique challenges are. We are considering transforming an engineering firm into an EPC, but are open to other possibilities. Broker recommendations would also be great!

Have some experience selling to EPCs (back when I worked for a large industrial supplier). I think upleveling an engineering firm to EPC is a terrific value creation opportunity, and the major downside is that you become very constrained by external delivery timelines. A motor you ordered is going to be 3 weeks late, that's now your fault. Nothing you can't handle with some process and preparation, but you should be aware of the major scope inflation that falls upon procurement orgs.
