While I've heard a good deal from searchers about proprietary/broker channels, I've not talked to many searchers with any kind of repeatable method of finding & working with river guides. Is anyone able to share successful experiences working with river guides? In particular, I am interested in the who (who is a good river guide), the how (how did you find the guides), the when (when is it a good use of searcher time to work with guides), and how (how do you know the guide can be helpful in your search)?

I commented on River Guides before, but I think I might have misunderstood the term. What's our working definition of a "River Guide" nowadays? I asked this question a couple of years ago in a thread and never got an answer. I'm still stumped.

Hey Anthony, we have some good and some less helpful experience using riverguides. The who is easy: its deeply rooted in your target niche industries entrepreneurial thinkers. How to find them? Either you have some contact into the industry or you need to warm up cold leads of individuals you identify as potentially interesting. In general our experience is that people are very willing to share if they know something ;)
