April 16th - looking for my first call after tax season

I've spent the last several months building my own accounting systems in Sheets and Snowflake while studying the bookkeeping and tax industry as an acquisition target. Applied math background, 12 years in Silicon Valley building data pipelines and systems on Snowflake and Python, with AI in the mix daily. I've owned and operated businesses before, including a franchise group, so I know what it actually takes to keep staff, clients, and cash flow moving at the same time. I also built my own accounting system from scratch specifically to understand this industry before writing a check. I'll be at SMBash in April if anyone wants to connect in person. What I want to build is pretty specific. I want to take a stable compliance practice and add the technical layer that most firms can see the value in but can't get to on their own. Connecting job costing systems like ServiceTitan directly to the general ledger so an owner knows which jobs are bleeding margin before the month closes, not after. Building reconciliation infrastructure for complex commission structures, tiered bonuses, and ad attribution across platforms - the work that currently lives in spreadsheets and takes days to close each month. For clients it means their accountant can finally tell them something useful on a Monday morning instead of handing them a PDF three weeks after the month closes. I'd rather the seller stay involved. The client relationships and institutional knowledge are a big part of what I'm buying, and a transition where the owner is still in the room makes this work better for everyone. Open to seller financing or an earnout structure - I don't need a bank in the middle if we can get the deal done directly. Targeting $300K+ SDE. Sacramento area or fully virtual.
