Are there search funds that are aviation and MRO specific?

Being new to the concept of search funds and seeing how broad some are I'm wondering if being domain experts and wanting to acquire a company (based on known sector trends) is an approach that makes sense.

We're willing to consider solar and renewables, some healthcare applications / companies, but our wheel house is very much around everything that flies, the data to keep it legal, how that data is stored, and more broadly how the future of aerospace / aviation maintenance tracking will transform business aviation and the airline industry as we know it.

I guess my question is, should we not be too specific?

With deep industry expertise, perhaps you could widen your options to engaging sponsors who know the space. But will be size dependent. As an example in A&R: http://www.odysseyinvestment.com/Home/Portfolio

thanks Hiram - to be clear when you say "who know the space" ... do you mean it is wise to approach such sponsors with a pre-ordained focus? ... i.e. our agenda is to shepherd investments into known growth sectors or at least ones that are highly fragmented where there is opportunity
