Are you aware of any small businesses attempting to tackle the water crisis?

I was speaking with someone today about water being the next big crisis in the U.S.. He is involved in the data center industry, and was explaining to me the vast amounts of water needed for cooling and how that drains the city's reserves. I would love to get in touch with some small to medium sized businesses who are in the water purification/treatment space. If you have any helpful leads, please share!

^redacted‌, not an expert in this area and can't connect you directly but I'd recommend looking into companies that serve adjacent niches around water purification and treatment in addition to looking for those businesses directly. Some that come to mind are water testing laboratories, waste management, and pure and ultra-pure water. I'd also look into water use rights and water investment strategies more generally!

Hi Landon - I'm a licensed engineer that designs water/wastewater infrastructure for cities so I am intimately familiar with the strain that large communities/data centers put on a regions water supply. The "water crisis" could mean many different things so I'm curious to know what exactly this individual was talking about. We have all the water we need in this world, it doesn't disappear once it goes down the drain we simply need to put more energy in to recycle/retreat/re-energize the water for reuse. So if you're talking big picture I'd consider this more of an energy scarcity problem. You are correct though these data centers are vaporizing millions of gallons of water per day and Utilities are having to get creative to come up with new sources of water to support it. Shoot me a message would be happy to discuss this more.
