B2B biz - sales + marketing leader or separate?

Hi all, wondering how/if you've handled sales and marketing leadership hires. Trying to decide if we attempt to couple the skills and find the needle that can do both well or if it's worth just skipping that thought process altogether and hiring separate individuals for each.

If you were able to find someone that can do both well, any recs on where to find more?

As a former Sales/Marketing guy I will say one thing. A Hunter sales person and a Marketer are two different people but a farming sales and marketer have more overlap and relationship dev etc. most people hire a sales person first and have a fractional marketer. This is usually true from a startup standpoint as well.
