Full-Stack AI Agent Engineer & Builder
Interested in finding exciting job opportunities where you will have a major impact each day? We are looking for you to join our fast growing fintech startup. We are transforming the M&A process with AI agents! The role can be flexible and tailored to your interests and availability, whether you are looking for part time or a full time role.
dealflowagent.com
DealFlowAgent is a London based startup founded by exited founder, Joe Lewin. We have built a next-generation AI agent platform for M&A deal sourcing, combining agent automation, a vector database of over 45m companies and an interactive 'Deal Concierge' named James AI who can delegate tasks to via text or voice, like a human Analyst. We’re now looking for a driven Backend Software engineer with strong backend experience to bring product execution across the finish line and unlock the waitlist of customers.
The Role
We're hiring a Backend Engineer (minimum of 2+ years’ coding experience) to own backend and API development. You’ll work on AI-agent workflows, third-party integrations and data handling for a powerful, self-serve M&A tool. We're after someone who thrives on turning complex backend logic into scalable products that actually work in the wild.
Key Responsibilities
Backend & API integrations (REST/GraphQL) to power agent workflows
3rd-party automation (e.g. n8n <> Claude) including auth, headers, JSON formatting
Live prototyping in Replit or Lovable.dev environments
Context & Data Handling: persistent storage, containerised user data, secure logic
Light front-end contribution – most UI is in place, just support where needed
QA & onboarding flows – test new features and optimise user setup (e.g. Typeform routing)
Requirements
2+ years coding professionally (or equivalent hands-on experience)
Strength in backend logic, APIs, data structures and deployment
Familiar with Replit, Lovable.dev, n8n, Claude or similar tooling
Knowledge of cloud infra (e.g. GCP, AWS) and CI/CD best practices
Comfortable reading third-party documentation and solving integration edge cases
Some front-end familiarity (React, HTML/CSS) to support basic tweaks
Bonus: exposure to M&A, search funds or deal-making workflows
Logistics & Compensation
~20 hrs/week (ideally up to 40 if you have time but we can be flexible)
Remote-first, London-based preferred for occasional meet-ups
Milestone payments on mini projects
Equity in our company (low cliff so you can access equity fast). We want you to be incentivised
How To Apply
We won’t do drawn-out interviews. Instead, send us:
1.) Your GitHub or portfolio — side projects, client work, whatever shows real skill. Provide clickable links to websites or apps.
2.) Explain what you built and your exact role in each project. You can do this in a video and then sending this if you prefer.
3.) A short test (we’ll send) involving an API + agent-style integration — submit a working demo or code repo
4.) A quick selfie video talking to the camera about why you would like to work at our company. You don't need to make it professional or edit it.
*** Send the 4 to redacted ***
Thank you for your time and consideration!! We look forward to hearing from you! You will be applying at an exciting time as we are scaling up fast.
