Custom Electric Business Development Intern (Paid, 3–6 Months) Hybrid | Paid | Flexible Schedule | 3–6 Month Placement Custom Electric is a leading electrical contracting firm serving commercial, industrial, and municipal clients across New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Maine. We’re growing our commercial and industrial customer base and seeking a motivated Business Development Intern to help expand our pipeline. Custom Electric is the first acquisition of VoltWorks, a new facilities services roll-up focused on building a diversified platform of small and medium-sized businesses across New England. VoltWorks is acquiring and integrating companies offering mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building controls services to serve small and medium enterprises with best-in-class expertise and coordinated solutions. ⸻ What You’ll Do • Lead Generation: Research and build targeted lists of general contractors, ESCOs, facility managers, and other potential customers across NH, MA, and ME. • Outbound Outreach: Support email and phone outreach to introduce Custom Electric’s services and qualify leads. • CRM Management: Accurately record activities, contacts, and opportunity details to maintain pipeline visibility. • Campaign Support: Help prepare email campaigns, track responses, and coordinate follow-ups. • Sales Reporting: Assist with weekly reporting on outreach activity, lead conversion metrics, and pipeline development. ⸻ What You’ll Learn • Real-world sales prospecting in the commercial and industrial contracting space. • Best practices in sales pipeline and CRM management. • Communication, qualification, and customer engagement strategies. • How a growing platform company is integrating service offerings to deliver comprehensive solutions to customers across New England. • Exposure to the evolving market for energy efficiency, electrification, and modern building systems.
