I only recently started searching & am running a solo, self-funded search while (currently) still employed full time, so I'm very interested in what the rest of this community has to say about your ROI question. My plans are to leave my current employer & switch to searching full time starting in January, assuming I haven't found anything by then.

Working a similar style- interns supporting a broker focused search seems most effective.
