Best time of the year to buy a business
I was wondering if there is a better time of the year to buy a business.

If it's a seasonal business, I imagine it would be nice to close a transaction 3-4 months months before the busy season. This would allow you to get comfortable in the new role, but also not have to worry about cash in the bank during the slow season if you transact right after the peak season.
From a tax perspective of a seller - a Q1 transaction means they spread the earnings from the business and sale proceeds over 2 years and reduce effective tax rates.
