Biden Capital Gain Tax Plan

Wondering if folks have seen any materials summarizing the current Biden administration's proposed capital gains tax on $1M+ earnings.

Trying to see how material the impact may be for potential sellers. I would think this is a heavy incentive for small business owners to liquidate their assets now vs. later.

Thank you! Most of all wanted to get a discussion going on how folks are thinking through this.

These are very helpful.... one thing they are considering is making the changes retroactive to the date of the announcement of the legislation, which could really alter a lot of plans.

Thanks Scott. We don’t know at the moment what the tax rates are for transactions closed since April 28. We understand this is a tough position to be in and negotiating without knowing.
