Hi Everyone, Found a year old thread on this and wanted to refresh - does anyone have experience hiring someone on Fiverr or Upwork to build a prospect/contact list for proprietary outreach? What best practices can you share? What databases did you use for finding specific contact information? Also, if there are any specific people you'd recommend, would love a referral.

Related: I hired someone on Fiverr to create my LLC logo and am very happy with it.

Thanks!

Hope this helps: I would advise against sending cold emails. Dave Kittle's got a great SF post suggesting you instead send snail mail or LinkedIn DMs. I agree with him that the type of people you're trying to connect with aren't likely going to reply to a cold email. I've been able to connect with strangers on LinkedIn, when I do so thoughtfully, because it provides people with context and social proof. https://www.searchfunder.com/post/2-best-ways-to-find-motivated-sellers-off-market-deals

Each marketplace has a niche. Fiverr is more suitable for a small gig (like the logo) while Upwork would be more suitable for the outreach database that you plan to do. Like any marketplace, your reputation as buyer reflects the kind of seller visible to you. For example, on Upwork, if you have not spent over $1000, your job post could be filtered out by top professionals. Your own spending and reviews on each platform play an important role on giving the visibility to your job posts. Someone with $10k spend on Upwork will have an entirely different experience compared to someone just starting off
