Building Materials Market

Has anyone acquired a company in the building materials industry or know someone who has?

I'm interested in learning more about this marketplace.

I have a JV with a local home builder in Cleveland, OH. to build 10 townhomes.

I have a logistics background in the U.S. Navy and I believe there are new sustainable materials that I've seen in international markets and new technological innovations that are coming out of the R&D process for residential and commercial real estate.

I wonder if there's room for a newer building materials company that specializes in special hard/unique materials with technical properties to come online into the marketplace or if it's much easier to acquire an existing building materials company and add new products?
