This is something I have been very curious about lately and wanted to ask the community what they thought here. When thinking about putting funds down for an acquisition or investing in your company, do you look at outside returns as a hurdle rate to beat to make sure your money is being put to the best possible use? What I am primarily talking about here is Bitcoin. Bitcoin has had an compound annual growth rate of 85% in the last 10 years. It does appear that is somewhat slowing down, but considering that kind of return vs. the risk and reward of return on equity, is that something business owners are considering?

businesses and bitcoin have different risk profiles that explain their different returns. investors in businesses save VC aren't really looking for big risk/return but something that will deliver 15-25% p.a. and wont go bk.
