Anyone have a suggestion for professional firms to work with on an acquisition? I'm asking specifically for the "Buy side" I know common practice is for firms to represent the seller, but as a qualified buyer It would be helpful to know what firms to collaborate with.

I have recently interviewed ~10 buy-side M&A advisors. They all come in different flavors. Some only do deal-sourcing, others only help with due-diligence, some are end-to-end full service. Some require a monthly retainer (3-10k/mo), others only a success fee. The modified Lehman scale is almost always different too. IMO moving forward with one depends on what you're looking for and how much time & capital you have. Can you afford to write a six-figure check for sourcing the deal + legal & accounting fees? Happy to chat offline and compare notes if it would be helpful.

See my profile. Read my books. You'll learn what you need to know about search and dealmaking. And what you learn will help you screen anyone you're thinking about hiring. Be careful. There are tons of people presenting themselves as experts who know nothing more than having read a few books, maybe, and using AI.
