Prove me wrong.

Search is just a reallllllly long sales process where you also pay money at the end.

Selles say yes to people they trust. Brokers take you more seriously when you give yourself some credibility:

Making a searcher website takes a weekend of DIY or $300 with someone from Fiverr.

I see searchers antagonize for weeks about whether to make a site. In that time, they could have finished it.

Do you go to people’s websites to see if what they said lines up with the site?

Do you Google people?

Well, the seller will Google you too.

What else do you do to build credibility with sellers?

I think being able to demonstrate at least some knowledge of the seller's industry can do wonders for quickly establishing credibility. If you can name drop big players and have a cursory understanding of the jargon specific to that space it will resonate with sellers that are constantly bombarded by searchers who often have no clue what the business actually does. One thing I always suggest is the value of a focused search, and how spending time in a specific niche will allow searchers to build credibility with potential sellers and better enable moving through the deal process.

Searchers need to sell themselves before an owner of a worthwhile business will sell to them.
