Buying Existing Franchises?

What is the best source of existing franchises that are available for sale? I don't have an interest in starting a new territory.

Best source is franchisor (franchisees tend to turn to them first when they want to sell), or contacting franchisees in the locations you are interested in directly.

Contacting franchisor is a good idea, if there is a specific franchise of interest to you. Otherwise, franchise businesses do list on the usual sites like Bizbuysell. I would evaluate existing franchise units based on 3 primary criteria - franchise history/reputation, profitability of the franchisee that is selling, and territory location. Would probably need to compromise on one these three, if looking to move quickly.
