Question for those who've bought technical/maritime businesses: how critical is keeping the owner-operator involved post-close? I'm seeing businesses where owner IS the technical expertise. Any experiences navigating this?

I know some maritime businesses owner, makers of ships but also equipment. Besides technical dependence, dont underestimate the relational side of this.
