I enagaged a buy side advisor and had abysmal results. I picked mine because he was local to my area and the cost of admission was less than $5k to start (no monthly recurring fee). But you get what you pay for. They did a ton of outbounds but I only spoke to 4 sellers over the course of 12 months. Not great. And I had a broad geography and criteria. To top it off, I thought the initial payment was refundable if I got to a LOI stage with a target (I never did), but turns out it wasn’t refundable. All to say, just be careful with who you pick and read the fine print.
