Hi all, does anyone have any suggestions about sources of acquisition financing for Canadian companies? I found a fantastic company in Toronto (1.8 mm CAD EBITDA) and so far have observed that it is not of interest to US-focused search fund investors, too big for Canadian SBA-equivalent programs (redacted

Hello Alex, Congratulations on finding the target. Have you looked at family offices, funds of funds, and individual accredited investors? I would also ask the same question you asked here of every one of those entities (US-centric SF investors, Canada SBA equivalent, and Canadian PE firms). You never know where one suggestion might lead you. Good luck in getting it to the finish line!

What multiple are you paying? Have you approached any banks yet? Most Canadian banks are willing to finance up to 2-3x EBITDA.. if you combine this with some seller financing you wont need that much equity, which I am sure you can find from some high net worth individuals in the GTA
