Cold emails vs other outreach

Cold email response rates appear to be weakening. It feels like the signal-to-noise ratio is tanking. I’m considering switching back to a high-quality, personalized physical mailer for my top targets. For those of you who have closed: did the 'personal touch' actually get you the meeting, or is it purely a volume game at this point? Does anyone have a mailer template that didn't immediately end up in the bin?

I'm not a fan of cold email in the least. Yes, you can run big campaigns and build a funnel - you can probably even justify the cost/benefit in some cases. I just think it's done so poorly by so many that you're painted with the same brush. The tailored email, the warm hand-off, and the personal connections are valuable. You have more control over the discussion. But, there are people out there selling mailing lists and campaign support/management - and they get paid. I get a ton of junk that people have paid for and it's so far off target it's embarrassing.

We’ve had strong success with cold outreach and still do. It’s not that the channel is broken, it’s that it requires real structure and experience. It comes down to buyer–business fit, clearly communicating your value, and why the owner should choose you as the successor. Many don’t follow best practices or have the right setup to create and scale outreach. If helpful, feel free to check out our help center for searchers or https://www.searchfundplus.com/
