Common & Advisable Financial Incentives for Deal Referrals?

As part of our journey with Celeris Global, we’re starting to think more intentionally about how to structure financial incentives for deal referrals — especially as we expand our network and actively explore acquisition opportunities.
I’d love to hear your experiences and perspectives on a few key points:
• What kinds of financial incentives (if any) are commonly offered to individuals who refer a deal that makes it into your pipeline?
• If a referred deal actually leads to an acquisition, is it typical to offer a success-based incentive?
• What about when the person referring the deal is one of your investors — is there any standard or common approach to handling that scenario?
Ultimately, I’m looking for insights on what’s fair, effective, and aligned with industry norms, without creating misaligned incentives or governance issues.
