Connecting with Paused/Off-Ramp Searchers

I'm hoping to connect with former searchers who either pumped the brakes on their search journey or walked away entirely. I'm starting my own search soon, and I'm keenly aware of "survivor bias." This might sound a bit unconventional. I'm approaching my own search with the understanding that failure is a given. And whatever I do during my search either increases or reduces the probability of failing. To those of you who put yourselves out there and are now thriving in other ventures, I truly respect your path. I'd love to learn from your experiences if you're willing to share. Please DM me or react to this post, and I promise to keep our conversation completely confidential. And if you know anyone who might be open to a conversation, please let me know. Thank you for paving the way and sharing your invaluable insights, allowing new searchers like me to learn from your journey.

Samuel - smart approach to actively seek out the 'failure' stories. Most people only hear the success cases. One thing that might help - consider reaching out to people who transitioned into operating roles at PE/search funds after their own searches. They often have great perspective on what didn't work and are usually willing to share since they're not competing anymore.
