Content website due diligence - what to look for...

Has anyone looked into acquiring content websites?

I know that content websites are typically not the most in-demand targets for searchers but it is an area of the market that is very hot right now from an investment and M&A perspective. We've seen valuations jump from ~30x monthly profit just a year ago up to ~45x today.

At redacted, we just put up a new guest article highlighting some of the red flags to be mindful of when conducting due diligence on a content website. I think some of this would be applicable to e-commerce, SaaS, and other businesses with an online presence.

Very helpful link, thanks! I've acquired a few content sites and the availability of tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Stripe, etc can help you be successful at due diligence.
