Hi Ya'll,

I'm in the process of setting up a website with information about me and my search. I'm interested in seeing other searcher's websites. Anyone have any recommendations or links?

Also, I'm curious to know different approaches there are to a website. I've seen some that are so minimal and formal that it's hard to know much about the searching. I'm interested in leaning into more informative and personal approach to appeal to local business owners.

Thoughts on these different approaches?

Hi Trace - I'm fairly new at this myself, and have been debating whether it is worth setting up a website or not. I've had good successes so far simply from talking to people on the phone and meeting them in person, and don't believe a website is going to accelerate that part of the process very much.

That said, a website would save me some time in initial broker emails, because I could point them to it rather than rehashing my background experience and deal criteria. A website helps with some of the credibility, in my mind, as very few businesses do not have a website these days. I have a business under LOI right now, so a website for my holding company is not the highest priority at the moment, but I'll set one up soon anyway.

For other references, here are a couple former posts that I found to be useful for providing examples and discussions:

To me, a good website has been the business differentiator for many years. Not having one means that anyone researching you/your business doesn't have a full picture or, even worse, operates from a lens that is defined by whatever loose information they happen to stuble upon across the web in general. Moreover, when it comes to comparisions and competition, do you think an entity looking to potentially add a funding round to you will tend towards the opportunity that does not have a website or the one that shows a professional presence? I hope this helps. I'm happy to talk more about this area. Thanks - Jon redacted
