I relocated from Canada to the U.S. in 2025 to purchase a business and need to find a cross-border advisor who can handle compliance and structure to minimize tax drag. There's a Canadian corporation that will continue operating in Canada and the new US operating business is structured as an LLC. Also need to look at changing that to qualify for QSBS. Any recommendations are appreciated.

As long as the business itself is a qualified small business (and hits the other QSBS requirements) you can elect for the LLC to be taxed as a c corporation and start the QSBS clock. As for the cross border tax leakage issues, my tax partner, Maureen is super well versed there. Happy to make an intro. Feel free to DM me or shoot me an email redacted
