Crowd Funding for Business Acquisitions

Has anyone used Crowd Funding for business acquisitions?
It was recently suggested to me and I am discovering it is actually a 'thing'.
Wondering if anyone has done it?

UPDATE: Challenge: Listen to this companies ECF info webinar...then tell me it's junk. (It blew my mind)

Hi Svein, from what I can see it is mostly for construction projects (e.g. housebuilding or cabin building projects ranging from 1-10 builds). I have not seen crowdfunding for ETA but if you gain some experience in this area please share!
