Customer acquisition and conversion is a gigantic topic. The strategies and tactics vary widely depending on the industry and customer base served. For many businesses, it's the single most important aspect of making the business successful, and the CEO role in those firms is essentially the CMO role, especially if the business is <$10MM in revenue. If this is a B2C business, especially if it's direct-to-consumer, a few quick conversations will not be adequate preparation. You either need deep expertise on your team going in or you need full confidence that a talented team is coming with the business.
