Hi everyone,

What are your views on the maximum daily commute / travel time to your acquired company? Would you recommend getting within 15-30min one-way even if that meant living in an undesirable area vs 1-1.5h commute from desirable location with support network, family, friends, etc.?

I think it really comes down to how critical it is for you to be on site. I think it comes down to the type of company you are acquiring. Will it ever require you to be onsite in urgent/emergency situations? If yes and that's a critical part of your business you'll want to be close by. If it's something you handle remotely or maybe a services-oriented business where you spend a lot of time in the field being further away doesn't seem to be as big of a risk to your customers/business. And the second big factor is your management team, can they be trusted to handle emergencies or do they live nearby and can be sort of "on call" should something happen.

I'm trying to decide if this is a serious post.
