Data Insight Tools?

Working on what I thought was an unrelated start-up and someone mentioned that it might be of interest to people looking to buy small businesses. Is there any demand for quick/cheap reports on a given small business revenue trends, with benchmarks to other local competitors and other businesses in town? I'm thinking it might help cut out prospects before wasting time on the due diligence phase. If so, would be great to chat to someone who has experience about what would be most useful.
