Here’s what a day in the life looks like as a 27 year old living in San Diego, building a nationwide commercial cleaning business (Big League Clean) 1. Critical thinking about my why as an entrepreneur Going to the beach and watching waves form, peak, and crash reminds me of entrepreneurship. There will always be highs and lows - what matters is consistency and adapting as conditions change. It’s all mindset. 2. Continuously laying the financial and acquisition foundation The day moved into numbers and structure. First with our CPA to tighten financial strategy. Then with Frankie, our M&A advisor, to work through how Big League Clean grows through acquisition and efficient integration. The repeated lesson that we’ve learned from mentors which we must reinforce weekly is that nationwide companies aren’t only built on gut feel (sadly). They’re built on clean financials, repeatable systems, and simplicity of flow. We’ve found that doing this well takes a lot of effort and is just part of the territory. 3. Learning from people who have scaled before I spent time with mentors who’ve led hundreds of people and built operating companies at scale. What always stands out is how much of our conversation is around simplification and systemized execution, rather then ideas. This ties to the Mantra of the day, which is to never stop learning. My goal is to continuously be a sponge as a founder. Never have enough knowledge, and always be open to learning more, because new knowledge holds the keys to new results in this game. 4. Reflection time for the day After the meetings, I grabbed a coffee and went on a walk. No calls. No podcasts. Just thinking through what I heard and how it applies to the business right now. I consider reflection to be a task that majorly expedites my learning speed. Moving fast without clarity is how I’ve made expensive mistakes. Better thinking leads to better execution. And better execution compounds over years. And that’s how we’re building Big League Clean into a nationwide commercial cleaning business.
