^redacted‌ Create a mixed strategy covering on-market and off-market deal flow. On-market is easy to do, off-market requires a bit more strategy and time, if you don't have the right guidance. On-market you can build relationships with brokers and any party that may have transactions available into your given industry. Off-market you can create a multichannel outreach system that connect with business owners to assess their interest in selling (done this multiple times to generate###-###-#### and even more opportunities every month, across industries). Mixing the two enables you to have decent coverage and avoid letting some stones unturned. What is the biggest challenge you are facing when sourcing deal flow?

If you have a strong preference for acquiring a company in a specific industry and geographic area, you may be able to both extend your referral network and differentiate yourself as an attractive buyer by allocating some of your search time to attending/participating in local industry educational and networking events. By staying current with industry trends, market participants, etc., you can make your conversations with potential referral sources/sellers more valuable to those you speak with and demonstrate real interest by sharing information about your target industry.
