Hello all,

Would anyone mind sharing a deal sourcing email template and/or cold call script?

Thanks in advance.

At risk of not answering the poster's question, I do a lot of deal generation cold calling and have tried many versions that fit into 3 general buckets###-###-#### sending templated emails myself, (2) having an offshore team that was part of my firm sending templated emails from my account, and (3) fully customized emails. 1 and 2 use some variables for customization but are pretty generic out of necessity. Even though 2 could be done at massive scale, I still find the 3rd option to be most effective. Business owners are deluged with solicitations so you need to let them know right away you're not wasting their time. Personalization is the path.

If you can get to your point on why you specifically want to talk to this owner about their company in 3 concise sentences, you'll be better off. Take any boilerplate information about yourself, your search, and/or your client and stick it below your signature. If they're hooked in the first paragraph then they'll look at it and it doesn't get in the way of grabbing their attention. Be direct and be genuine in your message. Do your homework on the company and write out each one specifically for that target. My outreach cadence includes both emails and phone calls. I'd estimate my full homework/outreach investment is over an hour per target.

I recently generated a pipeline of 10 active conversations with actionable targets within 2 months for a building materials client using this personalized approach. I contacted about 50 targets ranging from $3M to $300M in revenue. I got responses from at least 20 and positive engagement with 10. This is not my typical result, typical would be more like 5-10% engagement. I haven't found templates to be effective in generating enough conversations, even with scale.

I think Codie Sanchez has some stuff that fits the bill for this.
