Hi,
I have 2 VA's who are calling companies for dealflow but getting shrugged off on "Are you interested in selling your business"
What offer positioning have you tried that generates a high conversion rates for generating dealflow in a cold outreach?

I believe success in cold calling is less about your pitch (however, it does matter) and more about timing and method. Effective cold calling hinges on reaching the right prospect at the right moment—a challenge in itself. If you happen to call a business owner while they’re handling urgent issues (which might consume 20–99% of their day), you’re unlikely to get a favorable response. There’s also the issue of legitimacy; we’re all familiar with the frequency of spam calls, and business owners are no exception. Cold calls can easily be mistaken for spam, which may diminish effectiveness. While I don’t think cold calling is inherently ineffective, I see it as just one tool in a broader outreach strategy. Following up on an email or direct mail campaign with a call can often yield better results. Those initial methods allow the prospect to read and consider your message without feeling put on the spot. Of course, I’m sure others have different perspectives, but that’s my two cents on an approach!

Cold Calling is brutal but perhaps opening with the pitch isn't the right approach. Maybe play around with the script: first start with permission "Hey can I get 30 seconds of your time, I promise Ill be brief" then move to "Have you ever thought about selling your business?" - that's very different from "are interested in selling your business" now you can open up conversation for more questions somewhere in your script talk about your service and then move it to "best next step would be to get you on a call with "X" for a proper meeting - are you free on XYZ date?
