Do you consider Linkedin a dead horse?

I just had this conversation with some other guys from here and we all pretty much experience the same.

Tons of spam and at this point it's close to impossible to pass any legit request such as hiring or acquisition...

What's your personal experience?

It's still relevant platform and not a dead horse. But there is a ton of spam. I get connection requests sometimes 20 or 30 a week. Many are trying to sell me web development services or animated videos or investor relations or you name it. As a result when I want to connect with somebody even somebody I know it takes ages for that connection to happen. In fact I think most of the more senior level relationships that I have no longer answer messages on LinkedIn and prefer to either WhatsApp or communicate over email or phone call. So is Linked IN dead? No. Has it lost some of its value? I think yes.

I have found LinkedIn to be a great resource for content from organizations and for finding new connections. I have full intentions of using it for recruitment(haven't started recruiting yet), but outside of networking, the quality of content is highly dependent on unfollowing connections (as with all social media platforms these days). Lastly, I think being able to track the performance of content (post impressions, views, viewer demographics, etc.) is incredibly unique and can be a powerful resource for tracking engagement/marketing efforts.
