Recommend in this order: PeerComps (comps come from SBA lenders, highly scrubbed), DealStats, BizComps. Becareful with Business Reference Guide -- it has a lot of anecdotal info. The others are much better for statistical analysis. Also, be aware of the different ways that inventory and net working capital are included/excluded in each of the different databases' definition of Price. PeerComps includes normal inventory and excludes other NWC. DealStats is a toss up and somewhat industry specific -- you must look at the detailed transaction information. BizComps excludes inventory and NWC.

We use the BVR Private Company Resource. It's pricey but its used by most CBV's at Big Four Firms.
