Does anyone have a recommendation for a good lawyer in the SMB market?

I'm wondering if this community has identified lawyers who have plenty of experience in the Fundless Search space and are recommended by this community, similar to some of the Banks and CPAs who continuously get recommended by this group?

Also interested to know what a normal range of rates (e.g., hourly) are for these recommended lawyers.

Hey Eric - I'm a lawyer in this space. Here is my take on it. My rate is $330 per hour but we do a lot of projects on a fixed fee basis, including M&A deals. Depending on the need, the legal work may require differing levels of experience. If a firm has attorneys at different levels they can staff the deal appropriately. For example, most attorneys with 3-5 years of experience can handle commercial contracts, disclosure schedules, consents, and other ancillary documents with little guidance from a more senior lawyer at a lower rate. Our firm has rates from $200/hour to $430/hour. This is a lower range than most big firms and is competitive with mid-size firms. If you want talk directly, feel free to reach out at redacted

Eric - I'm an active traditional and self-funded search investor. I gave a talk "Tips for Self-Funded Searchers from an Investor" where I included a number of the regular legal players you'll see in that part of market. Send me a note to redacted and happy to send the slides.
