Does anyone have any experience exploring deals re: building materials?

It appears that there've been a lot of interest in the large-cap space. For example, Beacon Roofing Supply might get sold; Home Depot recently bought SRS distribution. Would love to see what others have seen.

Thanks,
Kin

Hi Kin, I'm in wood truss manufacturing and there's a significant amount of consolidation happening in the components manufacturing space right now (e.g. - roof and floor trusses, pre fab walls, floor cassettes, etc.). In many cases, large regional lumber companies have expanded into building materials and are now acquiring truss manufacturers and other component manufacturers as value added services in order to be a one stop shop for builders so they can sell more lumber. Happy to chat if you'd like, just DM me. Cheers, Ryan

I am familiar with metal roofing specifically -- a couple of my consulting clients were recently acquired by Beacon, and another was acquired by Cornerstone a few years ago. Lots of efforts to consolidate. Happy to chat specifically about metal roofing if that's interesting to you. It has some unique challenges to consolidation, IMO.
